How can I improve the EPC rating of my Home?

Insulate the walls and roof

Solid wall insulation, both internal and external, will lead to significant savings on heating bills and will usually improve your EPC rating by up to 12 points. Installing or increasing insulation in the loft to at least 270mm thick will have a significant impact, an uninsulated roof could lose up to 33% of your homes heat.

Install double or triple glazed windows

New double or triple glazing will also be a positive impact on the energy efficiency of your home and will improve your home’s EPC score by between 5 – 10 points.

More efficient boiler

A newer condensing model boiler can significantly improve your home’s EPC rating by a significant margin, if you include new smart technologies (Thermostats/Radiator controls) you will save on bills and make your home more energy efficient.

Upgrade your lighting to LED

If you only need to improve your homes EPC rating by a few points then switch to LED bulbs, these are more energy-efficient and eco-friendly and could make the difference for only a few pounds.
